OUR PHILOSOPHY

At St. John's Preschool we believe that children's growth is achieved and accomplished through developmental stages. By offering opportunities for individual growth, development, and problem-solving through hands-on play and activities, children discover and understand the world around them.

OUR TEACHERS

teacherThe teachers at St. John's Preschool are extremely experienced and educated in Early Childhood Education and Development. Continuing Education enables us to be prepared for the modern expectations of today's parents. Meeting all licensing standards established by the Department of Children and Family Services, along with our dedication, ensures our ability to prepare and educate your child to the highest of standards. Your child's health and welfare are the most important of our goals. Our teachers are also trained in CPR and in First Aid.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is based on the Bible and on the children's natural curiosity about the world in which they live. This is presented through theme units in which teachers plan and organize developmentally appropriate early childhood activities, often with the children helping to decide in what direction an activity may go. These activities are presented to the children through the following hands-on learning centers:

Art
Science
Blocks
Writing
Computer
Music
Math
Library
Dramatic Play
Listening Center
Discovery Table

PARENT-TEACHER COMMUNICATION

St. John's Preschool believes that OPEN communication between school and parent is the key to giving your child a positive school experience. We intend to keep communication open through school newsletters.
Parent/Teacher conferences are held during the course of the school year. These conferences will inform you of your child's social, emotional, intellectual (cognitive), physical, and spiritual development. Your child's creativity will be displayed throughout the classroom and hallways. St. John's offers opportunities for parents to participate in classroom activities or even to observe in the classroom. We welcome your participation.
